CIRDAP’s Annual Review and Planning Seminar Held

Dhaka, 24 January 2008: The two-day CIRDAP In-house Annual Review and Planning Seminar (CIARPS) - 2007 concluded today at the CIRDAP Headquarters in Dhaka. CIARPS 2007 was inaugurated on 23 January 2007 by Mr. ATM Fazlul Karim, Secretary of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division (RDCD) of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh. Mr. Khairul Kabir, Director General in-charge of Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Comilla, Dr. Durga P. Paudyal, Director General of CIRDAP, and Dr. Majibar Rahman, coordinator for CIARPS also presided over the inaugural session.

At the seminar, CIRDAP reviewed its activities, programmes/projects carried out in the previous year (2007), formulated the Centre’s work plan for 2008, reviewed suggestions / recommendations of the earlier CIARPS and immediate last policy body meetings. Activities of SOCSEA, the Sub-Regional office of the Centre were also reviewed for the year 2007.  

CIRDAP Professionals, including the Heads of all divisions and other Technical and General staff and representative from SOCSEA attended the inaugural and business session of the seminar.
